Charter a Helicopter for Your Shooting Party

As the season gets into full swing in the UK, here’s a selection of some our top charter destinations for the ultimate shooting party.

All of them are easily accessible with our luxury Sikorsky 92 helicopter. The S-92 is capable of carrying up to 16 passengers, together with gun dogs and has a bespoke gun compartment along with 1000lbs hold space for wellies, equipment, lunch and transporting game after a successful day’s shoot.

Loyton Lodge – Devon

Loyton Lodge in Devon has five shooting estates in the West Country.  Most recently it’s Challacombe estate has added a new parcel of land that presents even more challenging birds and adds some pheasant into the mix.

The estate is set in a lovely location in Exmoor, with a reservoir surrounded by moorland at its heart: Something that makes for a retrieving challenge and provides a wonderful spectacle. The Quarry is partridge and pheasant.

Castle Hill – Devon

This shoot is consistently spoken about as one of the best, especially for high pheasants – thanks to the expertise of Headkeeper, Brian Mitchell. It boasts over 1,000 acres of beautiful Exmoor landscape and has the added benefit of brown trout, sea-trout and salmon on the Bray for those who fancy a bit of fishing as well.

Drumlanrig Castle – Scotland 

At the other end of the country, Drumlanrig Castle provides partridge, pheasant and grouse shooting.

There are 20 partridge drives ranging from high to exceptionally high birds. Pheasant shooting is set amongst high hills, mixed woodlands with some interesting gullies. Five additional drives have recently been added to the established 25 drives giving a huge range and diversity.

The grouse shooting is set within 25,000 acres of heather moorland and has four main beats.

EC135: 2 hours 5 minutes 

Wemmergill – Co. Durham

This is one of Britain’s most historic grouse moors with shooting records dating as far back as the 1870s. The estate covers 14,000 acres of varied terrain and is home to the famous Shipka Pass drive.

EC135: 1 hour 25 minutes

Gunnerside – North Yorkshire

This estate stretches across 30,000 acres of breathtaking Yorkshire moorland and has excellent lowground shooting. It’s been described as “The ultimate combination of fast, low birds and high, slow drives.”*
